Q: When is the NEXT class (CHP)? How often do you have them?

A: Due to the unique individual schedules of interested participants, I attempt to be flexible and schedule the class based on YOUR best availability and add students that are interested from there. I recommend contacting us via Facebook or Phone and follow One Mag Defense on Facebook and Instagram for course offerings.

Q: What should I bring to class?

A: 1. An open mind. Although facts of Louisiana Law are required to be addressed and presented, there will be a discussion of opinions and experiences specific to YOU and your classmates. We refrain from express ideals that are obviously offense to any particular race, sex, religion, culture, etc.

    2. An UNLOADED weapon. NO LIVE AMMUNITION is needed during the classroom portion of the course. TWO magazines and at least 50 rounds are needed for the range qualification.

Q: How can I find about more about the minimum requirements to obtain my Concealed Handgun Permit from Louisiana?

A: You can go to the following link to learn more about the requirements and applying for your CHP via the Louisiana State Police:    http://www.lsp.org/handguns.html

Q: Can I still be trained or attend a Concealed Handgun Course if I don't own a weapon?

A: Yes. Rental weapons are available for an additional fee for training and range qualification. I'd also recommend that you try several different weapons (makes, models, calibers, etc.) to find what's comfortable for you. The course completion and range qualification require that you successfully complete the following course of fire but does NOT mandate a specific handgun/caliber or that you can only carry the weapon you qualify with.

      A. Live range fire shall include 12 rounds each at 6 feet, 10 feet, and 15 feet for a total of 36 rounds;

      B. Each applicant or permittee must perform at least one safe reload of the handgun at each            distance;

      C. Each applicant or permittee must score 100% hits within the silhouette portion of a NRA B-27 Type silhouette target with at least 36 rounds.
